Living in Vancouver for 22 years has definitely spoiled this girl. There are so many places with yummy dishes to taste; it’s hard to know where to begin! Every month, my boyfriend and I’ll dine out somewhere – either one of our favourite places or somewhere new, depending on our mood. But dining out is definitely one of our favourite things to do and we take it seriously. Going out so much also means that we are extremely picky about where we go – life’s too short to waste money going to places with crappy food and/or service!

Recently arriving back to Canada after three years living in UK and Ireland, I have gained an in depth appreciation for the pub culture. Very rarely was there a pub I hadn't seen the insides of, if only for a quick peek before running back out the door. My year living in Ireland, I literally lived above a pub which became my second living room. That is not to say I am a lush and constantly drinking, pubs became my cafe, my hangout spot and meeting point. Always in search of a good pub worthy of becoming another living room, I wander the streets of Vancouver dashing into pubs to get out of the rain! My reviews cover a couple of pubs that not only shelter you from the rain, but make you want to stay long after the rain subsides.

The restaurant that most appeals to my tastes, are the ones with the fusion foods!  There are many of these restaurants that roam the streets of Downtown Vancouver, and I enjoy discovering them.  I do occasionally like to indulge, and visit the more up-scale restaurants as well.  However, it doesn't appeal to me, to have a single carrot and a block of fish as a main entree.  I carefully read the site and view their menu's online to understand the restaurant's overall style before going.  Remember to indulge, but indulge in the right foods. Stay healthy, and stay away from the fried foods!
